Spicy Minced Meat (Keema)

Spicy Minced Meat (Keema)

This is a spicy, juicy and tangy dish that can be used to stuff your samosas, filo pastry / puff pastry parcels, sandwiches or simply eaten with hot rotis/naans.

My brother dropped in last night and sleepily expressed a desire this morning, to eat a stuffed omelette. Now, stuffed omelettes are quite passè for me, considering the number of times I’ve made them recently. It was time for a change. Without revealing what happens next, I will only say that the stuffing was going to be minced meat.

Quite easy really. Fry your onions till they’re brown, add ginger-garlic paste, add meat masala, cinnamon, cardamom, chilli powder, dried red chillies, salt and turmeric powder. Add the minced meat (keema) and stir well. Add some jalapenos and a generous dose of kasuri methi. Add some water if you like, to help the stuff cook. Simmer for 15 minutes, bring to a boil and take off the heat.

Serve with hot rice, rotis or naan. Try it in a grilled sandwich, roll it in a parantha or fill a pastry parcel… wheee!
