Jama Masjid

The markets around Jama Masjid are excellent for die-hard carnivores. Meaty stews, kebabs, biryanis with soft khamiri rotis to go with them are indicative of the food you can expect. Mutton (goat meat) isn’t widely available here – buffalo or bada / bade ka meat is the standard. If you don’t eat buffalo, ensure you ask the vendor what meat is in the dish in question. As the turnover here is quite high, meats are usually fresh and if you stick to eating hot foods or breads, tummy problems shouldn’t happen. Jama Masjid also has quite a few dessert vendors, which you must try. Most food is prepared using vegetable fat and vegetarian options are few.
