Azzurro, Gurgaon

Average Every so often we come across food establishments we’d like to keep a secret from the rest of the world and surreptitiously stuff our faces with their fare. Azzurro is one such. Unpretentious, well executed and tasty food in clean, clear and well serviced environs is what you should expect at Azzurro. Personally, I’m nervous walking up a glass staircase though I admit it looks good.

Baileys Cheesecake With an array of choice dishes in Azzurro’s menu, we were spoilt for choice and ended up with a mixture mostly comprising the Chef’s specials – Artichokes and Gorgonzola, Garlic Prawns, Grilled Chicken and Parmesan Salad, Roasted Tomato and Garlic Soup, Mushroom Cous Cous and Saffron Soup, Rack of Lamb, Chicken Asparagus Vitollini and a portion of Bailey’s Cheesecake. The bread basket at Azzurro had amazing breadsticks, possibly one of the nicest I’ve eaten with a subtle cheesy flavor. The ciabatta however wasn’t right and the Chicken Asparagus was uncomfortably close to a Chicken Cordon Bleu but did taste good. Each dish was presented well with quite distinct, individual flavors. I loved the artichoke hearts with Gorgonzola sauce. A big plus was our waiter being able to answer most questions about the food, which isn’t very common.

I recommend at least one visit to Azzurro to check out their food.
