Coco Palm Express, Galleria, Gurgaon

ThumbsUp Vinny and I had dropped by at Coco Palm Express at lunch time. The common parking area was full but we did not have to wait for a place at the restaurant.  The service was quick… and that brings me to another queston- why do hotels and restaurants levy a service charge? The cost of services provided are already included in the price of the dish then why this? Is it that they take for granted that we will tip the waiter and hence help us to do so by leving service charge? And if they do should we be leaving a tip behind and how much (normally I leave 10% of the bill unless the bill crosses Rs 1000/- when I moderate the tip)

Considered my lack of imagination or or culinary adventure, I stuck to my routine masala dosa and Vinny had a Malabar meal which came with a portion of fish curry (Rohu), one Kerala parantha, a bowl of rice, a papad and a bowl of onion curd, which had more onions than curds. I found the food chilly hot and definitely enjoyable. Vinny on the other hand was ruing the lack of chilli and was alternating between blaming the food and her taste buds. It cost us Rs 328 for a meal for two.

Will we go back? Yes, we will probably visit the place again to taste other dishes on offer. If you are around Galleria during lunch time and like south Indian food I would recommend visiting this place at least once.
