We drove in at about 10 AM on a sunday morning in this very popular Haldiram eatery located on NH 8, approximately 15 kms from the Toll booth at Delhi border. Ever since the Toll Road has been consructed [From Delhi Gurgaon border to about 20 kms down NH 8] access to this place has become restricted. You can no longer take an abrupt decision to walk in while crossing the place since there is no way you can enter it at that belated stage. It has to be a deliberate decision as access to the place is through a slip road and to the slip road from a designated cut in the side rail. This cut is very prominently marked with the help of a bill board, but you have to be alert about it.
The place is well maintained with manicured lawns, adequate parking space and enough space (and warnings boards for drivers) for children to run around to excercise their limbs having remained confined to the cars for a while. It offers enough and more variety of fast food and sweat meats to tempt most stubborn palates. The place offers Indian fast food and a vast variety of sweet meats. There are separate restaurants for selling/serving sweets meats. In short the place is spacious. It is also clean, the service prompt and the prices reasonable.
We ordered Poori sabji and Mutter Kulcha for the two of us. Poori sabji cost us Rs 55/- . It contained 5 small pooris, raita (slightly sweetened) and halwa (lots of ghee floating on the top). Kulcha mutter (Rs 34/-) plate consisted of two kulchas and lots of mutter. Both plates were adequate in terms of quantity. Pooris were hot, well fluffed up and dry (not dripping with oil), as we would want them to be. The moderately spiced aloo sabji with gravey was well cooked. The plate was garnished with the usual onion salad and pickles. Kulcha mutter option is for those who wish to avoid oil and was also good though in comparison to poori sabji, it scores a little lower.
While driving out of Delhi on this highway if you have time I will certainly recommend you to stop by and enjoy the place with a short break. You can also pick up some sweets for your home or the people you are visiting.

Those puris look good, I’ve never had a good one in this country. It seems that you enjoyed you meal and the ambiance.
