Hey,

I am yet to have a burger as delicious as they make at Bembos (Mumbai). I am back in Delhi, have been here for 3 months now and never knew about Bembos operational in Delhi. The first thing Im doing post office today is hop my way to one. I just hope they taste the same as in Mumbai. And even Mumbai Bembos don’t serve Inka Cola.

Now that I know of Bembos in Delhi, can’t wait for the juicy burger

Hi! i’m from Peru aswell… concerning the issue of making the food more “Indian” the thing is that here in Peru one of the things that made Bembos stand out was that it served burgers prepared the “Peruvian way” meaning that they added ingredients from traditional Peruvian food which is now considered one of the best ones in the world (a little bit of bragging does no harm) to a “typical american dish” so maybe Bembos attempted to the same in India. It would be nice to see the same burgers we see here on the other side of the world and see it’s acceptance. Also lately Bembos has opened up to other countries’ typical dishes, don’t know if they do the same in India. I do know however, that i would really like to see “indian burgers” here in Peru, you never know….

@Raghu: You probably won’t find beef in most places in India, burger or otherwise. Some places import beef, like Diva in GK. You may find buffalo meat in some places, not too many of these too. The closest acceptable option I find is the Nirulas Mutton Mahaburger, which used to be quite good – I haven’t been there for quite a while, having given up on Nirulas quality of service and food. Wimpy’s used to have a Lamb Burger (lamb, not mutton) that was good – You’ll find one at Janpath and one at New Delhi Railway Station. Other options include starred hotels that *may* serve lamb burgers and perhaps beef too. Then we have Ice & Spice, which is in Bangalore.

Would be a lot easier to make at home.

Hey! I completely agree with you on the degree of Indianization of menus. Even i feel if a culture is being adopted, they shouldn’t change it to such an extent. And yes, talking about burgers, enlighten me on where in delhi could we find the “actual” hamburger, as in with the beef/lamb patty?

Hi Susheela: Yup, Bembos is good stuff, though I wish, really really wish, foreign food chains wouldn't Indianize their menus so much. It would be so nice to have a glimpse (taste) of their original fare!

As a result, Bembos NOIDA doesn't have Inka Cola!!

I am from Peru (currently living in Miami) and I miss my Bembos veggie burgers!! v_v India has a real treat, and even more so if you have "Inka Cola" drinks. Yum!
